Theatre Policies

Dolby Theatre will open one hour prior to the scheduled performance time. Plan on arriving at least 30 minutes in advance. Traffic in and around Hollywood can be congested at times, so you’ll want to allow yourself plenty of time to get here, find parking, use the restroom and purchase concessions before the event begins. Ushers will direct you to your seat and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the theatre’s amenities.

Service animals are permitted at Dolby Theatre. The ADA defines a service animal as any guide dog, signal dog, or other animal individually trained to provide assistance to an individual with a disability. This includes psychiatric service animals that are individually trained to provide service to individuals with psychiatric or neurological disabilities, such as preventing or interrupting impulsive or destructive behaviors. It does not include emotional support or comfort animals. Service animals must be harnessed, leashed or tethered at all times and will be required to rest in the seating area of the individual with a disability, rather than in the aisle. A guest whose service animal poses a threat to the safety of other guests and employees may be asked to escort the animal off the premises.

If you have any questions about service animals or any other type of assistance animals, you may contact Dolby Theatre’s Guest Services Manager at 323-308-6332.

Dolby Theatre asks that you turn off or silence all noise-making electronics, text-messaging devices and cell phones during the performance.  Taking pictures and video recording is prohibited inside the theatre.

The use of cameras and recording devices is strictly prohibited at all Broadway In Hollywood performances.

All persons entering the theatre require a ticket unless otherwise stated. Please carefully consider whether a performance is appropriate for your child before planning to attend. Also, please be aware that disruptive patrons, including children, will not be allowed to remain in the theatre. Be considerate of others in the audience and of your child’s comfort.

A complimentary coat check is available at Guest Services in lobby level 2. Please note that backpacks and other large bags are not permitted inside the theatre.

Dolby Theatre has no formal dress code, and we encourage you to wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. As types of performances vary, there is no standard dress code for patrons, although a shirt and shoes are required at all times. Please note that chains and spiked jewelry are not permitted inside the theatre. When in doubt, business casual is always appropriate. In addition, please consider the effects of strong perfumes and colognes on those seated around you.

It is suggested that patrons leave seat locations with babysitters, answering services, or other individuals who may need to reach them. Below is contact information in case of emergency:

 - Administration Offices (Mon-Fri, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM): 323-308-6300
 - Security (During most events): 323-308-6344
 - Box Office (During most public, ticketed events): 323-308-6369

Patrons cannot be paged during a performance, but the House Manager will personally contact a seated patron in the event of an emergency when a seat location is provided.

Concessions are located in each lobby level of Dolby Theatre and offer a variety of food and beverage options. We are proud to partner with Wolfgang Puck Catering as the exclusive food and beverage provider. Concessions offerings include soft drinks, mixed drinks, wine, beer, popcorn, candy, chips, sandwiches, and various fresh food options. Food and beverage is permitted inside the theatre during most events. Outside food and beverage, excluding unopened bottled water, is not allowed.

Late seating is at the discretion of the House Manager and may not be possible for some performances. If you arrive late, ushers will seat you at the earliest appropriate time during the performance, usually at the end of a scene or piece. Out of respect for the performers and other audience members, you will be asked to wait in the lobby with an usher until the appropriate seating break. Video monitors are located in the theatre lobbies for latecomers to use until the seating hold has been lifted. If you need to leave a performance early, we ask that you please exit during a time when moving around would be a minimal disturbance to those around you, such as during applause.

Items that are found during an event will be held at Guest Services in lobby level 2. At the conclusion of the event, any unclaimed items will be turned over to Dolby Theatre security and held for up to 30 days. For ‘Lost & Found’ inquiries, please call (323) 308-6344.

Guests will be treated in a consistent, professional, and courteous manner by all venue personnel.

Guests who engage in disruptive behavior (including foul/abusive language, individual calls to the stage or obscene gestures), fighting, throwing objects, or attempting to approach the stage or backstage will be immediately ejected from the venue without refund or reimbursement.

Guests are expected to consume alcoholic beverages responsibly. Intervention with an impaired, intoxicated or underage guest will be handled in a prompt and safe manner. Management reserves the right to deny entry into the venue and/or refuse service to guests displaying visible signs of impairment/intoxication.

Men’s and women’s restrooms are available on each lobby level and include accessible accommodations.

Bag-checks and wanding will be standard for all events. Any guest attempting to enter the facility with a prohibited item will be asked to return the item to their vehicle. The following items are not permitted at Dolby Theatre:

 - Outside food and beverage (excluding unopened water bottles)
 - Any type of weapon or item that may be used as a weapon, including pocket knives, chains and spiked jewelry
 - Laser pointers or any other item that may be considered disruptive to the performers or other audience members

Smoking (including electronic devices) is strictly prohibited anywhere inside Dolby Theatre. Those who wish to smoke may visit the level 3 rotunda of Hollywood & Highland.
